Zexi joined the Computational Privacy Group as a PhD student in Jan 2024. His research interests include secure computing, distributed machine learning and privacy preserving techniques in machine learning.
Originally from Singapore, Zexi obtained his dual bachelor degrees in Computer Science (CS) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. During his time at CMU, he focused on distributed systems, cryptography, machine learning and signal processing.
After graduating, he spent 2 years as a research engineer at the Agency of Science and Technology (A*STAR) in Singapore as a member of the Cybersecurity department. His work focused on the development of secure multiparty computing solutions.
